With convenient road and flight access from Victoria Falls and Bulawayo, the park is a popular destination for both local and international tourists.
Hwange is famous for its large elephant and buffalo herds, as well as rare antelope species such as sable.
Visitors can also witness an excellent concentration of large predators, including lion, leopard, wild dog, hyena, and cheetah. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted with over 400 species.
Experience & Activities
Beyond the yoga time, activities include morning and evening game drives as well as walking safaris and game viewing from the comfort of your own tent!
Cultural experiences are also possible. Village visits entail taking guests to Mabale village, where they can talk with the chief and have a tour around his homestead.
Guests can also visit two of the local schools that the camp supports.
Verney’s Camp
Verney’s Camp is a nostalgic-style safari camp.
The tents are all tucked away into the teak forest on an elevated platform that provides sweeping views over the pan and waterholes.
Each tastefully appointed unit contains a luxury en-suite bedroom with modern bathroom with hot and cold water and flushing toilet, and patio deck and relaxation area.
The comfortable king-sized bed can also be separated into two twin beds.

Victoria Falls
The town of Victoria Falls lies on the southern banks of the Zambezi River at the western edge of the falls that it is named after.
After David Livingstone set his eyes on the “smoke that thunders” in 1855, the settlement was later developed in 1901 when the possibility of using the waterfall for hydro-electric power was explored, and expanded when the railway from Bulawayo reached the town shortly before the Victoria Falls Bridge was opened in April 1905, connecting Southern Rhodesia (later Rhodesia; now Zimbabwe) to Northern Rhodesia (later Zambia).
Vic Falls, as it is affectionately abbreviated to, is known as the adventure capital of Africa, with any number of outdoor and adventure activities to choose from. As well as world-class white water rafting, there is one of the world’s highest bungee jumps, skydiving, swing slides, helicopter rides and more.
Although the town is small, it has a vibrant feel to it with lots of craft shops, pop up craft breweries and cafes, and relies heavily on tourism.
Nkosi Guest Lodge
Nkosi Guest Lodge is a charming and peaceful retreat located just a few minutes from the magnificent Victoria Falls.
The lodge offers a variety of accommodation options to suit different needs, including standard rooms, luxury rooms and suites. Each room is tastefully decorated and equipped with modern amenities.
The lush gardens and spectacular pool provide a serene environment for guests to relax and unwind after a day exploring the nearby attractions.
The lodge also features a restaurant and bar serving delicious meals and refreshing drinks.
Activity overview
From the Zimbabwe side visitors view 75% of the 1.7 km waterfall and the landmark Victoria Falls Bridge from 16 viewing or lookout points along its length.
Clearly marked trails wind through the lush Victoria Falls Rainforest whose dense woodland of towering trees are nourished by high humidity and constant ‘rain’ created by the spray of the Falls.
Having worked up an appetite it’s time for lunch at the Lookout Café.
Perched 120 metres above the Zambezi River rapids, the Lookout Café offers an unbeatable view of the iconic Victoria Falls Bridge.
Chobe National Park
Chobe National Park is located in northern Botswana, in easy driving distance to Kasane and Victoria Falls.
Chobe is Botswana’s first designated national park and, at over 11,700 km2 (4,500 mi2), is one of the largest.
The greater Chobe area consists of the Chobe River, Savute, and Linyanti, which combined is home to Africa’s largest elephant population.
There is a rich variety of landscapes in addition to the famed riverfront including vast floodplains, woodlands, grasslands, and clay pans which can be enjoyed by boating safaris and game drives.
Ngoma Safari Lodge
Ngoma Safari Lodge is a boutique lodge offering unrivalled panoramic views over the game-rich floodplain and Chobe River. It is on the doorstep of Chobe National Park, also known as the “Land of the Giants,” home to the largest population of elephants on Earth.
Ngoma Safari Lodge is sensitively designed to celebrate its pristine location and views while blending into its natural surroundings. The thatch-roofed lodge is finished in volcanic rock that naturally occurs in the Chobe Forest Reserves and its suites nestle in bush willow thickets and Zambezi teak trees.
The expansive Chobe River can be explored in the comfort of a river cruise boat. This full-day safari is a wonderful way in which to absorb and appreciate the scale and splendour of this all-important water system and the many magnificent life forms it supports.

The weather in Hwange National Park, Victoria Falls, and Chobe National Park can vary depending on the time of year, but March and November can be good times to visit for different reasons.
In March, the weather in these destinations is generally warm and humid, with occasional rain showers. Temperatures can range from 20-30°C (68-86°F) during the day and can drop to around 15°C (59°F) at night. While the wet season is coming to an end, there may still be some lush vegetation and good opportunities for birdwatching. However, it’s important to note that Victoria Falls is actually at its highest water level during this time due to the rainy season. This can result in a spectacular display of waterfalls.
In November, the weather is generally hot and dry, with occasional thunderstorms. Temperatures can range from 25-35°C (77-95°F) during the day and can drop to around 20°C (68°F) at night. This is a good time for wildlife viewing, as animals congregate around water sources due to the dry conditions. Additionally, the lower water levels at Victoria Falls during this time can provide a unique perspective and allow for closer views.
Hwange National Park, Chobe National Park, and Victoria Falls are all renowned for their incredible wildlife. During your safari, you can expect to witness a diverse range of animals in their natural habitats, including some of Africa’s most iconic species.
One of the highlights of the safari is the opportunity to see elephants in their natural environment. Hwange National Park and Chobe National Park are home to large populations of elephants, making it one of the best places in Africa to observe these majestic animals. Lions are also commonly spotted in both parks, along with leopards, which are more elusive but can be seen during the dry season when they are drawn to water sources.
Buffalo, giraffes, and zebras are also frequently sighted in both Hwange and Chobe National Parks, often in large herds. Additionally, hippos can be seen in the rivers and waterways of Chobe National Park, particularly during the dry season when water sources are limited.
In addition to these larger animals, the parks are also home to a wide variety of bird species, including raptors, waterbirds, and songbirds. Our experienced guides will do their best to provide you with the best possible wildlife viewing opportunities during your safari, but we cannot guarantee sightings of specific animals, as wildlife sightings are dependent on a variety of factors such as season, weather, and animal behavior.
Overall, your safari in Hwange National Park, Chobe National Park, and Victoria Falls promises to be an unforgettable experience, offering the opportunity to witness some of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife in their natural habitats.
During your trip, you will be provided with a variety of delicious and healthy meals that are prepared to high standards. The lodges and camps that we work with take great care in providing high-quality food to ensure that you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
If you have any food intolerances or allergies, please let us know in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available upon request.
